What is Taxpayer Registration-Related Applications (TRRA)?

The Taxpayer Registration-Related Applications (TRRA) Portal is an electronic platform launched by the Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) aimed at modernizing and simplifying the submission of registration-related transactions for taxpayers. It allows applicants to submit scanned copies of required documents and transmit them via email to the appropriate BIR Revenue District Office (RDO), providing a convenient alternative to physical submission of documents.

Process of Applying through TRRA:

  1. Prepare scanned copies of all required documentary requirements in PDF format, with each file not exceeding 4MB.

  2. Access the TRRA Portal via the BIR website under the eServices section.

  3. Select the specific frontline service or transaction to be applied for.

  4. Choose the corresponding RDO where the taxpayer is registered. For new TIN applications, the system determines the RDO based on the provided address.

  5. Attach the scanned documents and send the application via the "Email your Application" button through the portal. If the email program does not open, manually email the documents to the address provided by the TRRA system.

  6. Receive email acknowledgement of application receipt from the official BIR RDO email within three (3) working days.

  7. The application processing is done manually and completed within three (3) working days from the receipt of complete documentary requirements.

  8. Applicants get an email notification about the status of their application. If there are any incomplete requirements or issues, the BIR officer will contact the applicant.

Requirements:

  • The documentary requirements depend on the type of transaction but generally include relevant forms (like BIR Form 1904 for TIN application), valid IDs, proof of address, and other supporting documents.

  • Detailed checklists for each type of application are accessible on the TRRA portal when selecting the application type.

Cost Involved:

  • There is no additional fee for using the TRRA Portal itself as it is an alternative submission method offered free by the BIR.

  • Usual documentary stamp taxes, registration fees, or other related charges for the specific transaction will still apply as per existing tax rules.

Timeline:

  • Email acknowledgement of application receipt is sent within three (3) working days.

  • The processing of the application is completed manually within three (3) working days from the date of email acknowledgement of complete documents.

  • Total usual turnaround time is about 3 to 6 working days unless there are issues requiring follow-up or resubmission.
